The Emergency Services Show was held at the National Exhibition Centre next to Birmingham International Airport on 16-17 September. This is a showcase of statutory and voluntary rescue organisations, supporting charities and, of course, many suppliers of equipment, tech applications and services.
Officers and cave rescuers from BCRC supported by colleagues from the member teams, Cave Rescue Organisation and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, kindly assisted at the BCRC display stand. There we spoke to those passing by of the basics of cave rescue with the aim to remind the wider Search and Rescue community of the existence of the specialist service of cave rescue, and also describe the nature of our voluntary work.
